Our David Collective is inspired by the life of King David and the eternal truths of Scripture. This unique design features the heartfelt words from 1 Chronicles 17:16: "Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?" This verse encapsulates David's awe and gratitude for God's extraordinary grace in his life.

King David, a shepherd boy anointed to be king, was chosen by God to lead Israel and establish a dynasty. In 2 Samuel 7, David reflects on God's promises and blessings, marveling at how far God has brought him. Despite his humble beginnings and many trials, David acknowledges God's sovereign grace that has guided and sustained him. This verse reveals David's humility and recognition of God's hand in every aspect of his journey.

The depths of God's grace are further illuminated by the history behind the beloved hymn "Amazing Grace." Written by John Newton, a former slave trader turned clergyman, "Amazing Grace" was inspired by this very verse from David's life. Newton, like David, experienced a radical transformation through God's grace, leading him to pen words that resonate with countless believers: "Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me."
